Apartment Hunting

I'm married, but my parents file me as dependent on their taxes? i dont want them to find out im married?
Okay, so me and my boyfriend plan on getting married in the near future. We're well over 18 We've been supporting ourselves for some time now except i'm living at home for another month or two while he's in the Army. I've been apartment hunting, but i'm waiting until he comes back next month to move out. The problem is i'm a full time student, they have not been supporting me, i'm under 24, and I want to get married, but what will happen if they file taxes when i'm married and claim me as a single dependent. He wants to get married now, so I can have the same benefits and get taken care of since i'm always sick and do not have health insurance currently. (I get sick easily & have an ulcer that my parents could never pay for me to see the doctor when I was a minor) My parents are traditional asian parents and I want to get married to him now LEGALLY, but give them the traditional asian wedding in a year or so without them knowing I was already married.. but for now i'm concerned about what will happen if my fiance files for taxes Married Seperately and my parents file for me as a dependent? Will any of them be audited? I will tell my fiance not to claim me on his upcoming income taxes as a dependent, will this allow my parents to file me as a dependent without knowing im married? What does them not knowing have to do with me not being old enough to marry him? It's us getting married, not him and my family tree. WE are saying "I Do" and promising til death do us part. Like I said, they are traditional asian parents and I am going to tell them in the near future when I give them the traditional wedding they want. For now, I need this wedding to be a secret. No judgmental and rude comments please. I asked a question and would love if the question was strictly answered. Thank you.

Texas girl moving to NYC. Advice?
I'll be finishing my undergrad next December, and will be moving to NYC with my boyfriend of 5 years to start grad school. I'm applying to NYU, and after talking with admissions and advisors at my current university as well as NYU, I'm virtually a shoe-in. I'm really excited, but it's going to be a MAJOR change for me. I spent the first 18 years of my life in a tiny fishing town (population <9000) on the Texas coast, and have spent the last 4 in San Antonio. My mom lives in NYC and will be able to help with apartment hunting, helping me get situated, etc., but I'm still terrified. What are some things you think I should know? I'd love to hear anything from housing/cost of living/transportation tips to cheap/free things to do. Hell, I'll even take advice on what to expect from people in NYC vs Texas, or weather!! Just excited and nervous about the move, and want to know more about my future home. Thanks for your help!

apartment hunting: which place should I choose?
I'm currently stuck between two places. I am a female college student and is kind of a newbie on apt hunting. I have a little less than 1 month to look for a place to live. Place A is on top of a supermarket complex, literally. Very convenient to everything for $550 rent+ $30 utilities plus I don't have to sign a lease + cheap deposit. But, I would have to live with a couple and a man, whom are both working professionals. The living space and shared bath is kind of crowded, messy, and dingy. The room is spacious. Place B is a little less convenient than Place A to things. 600 rent including all utilities. I would be living with girls that go to my school, but I have to sign a lease + very expensive deposit. The neighborhood is not that well lit but it is very clean and the room is also spacious. Opinions would be appreciated! Also, the couple in place A lives in the living room which is why it's crowded.

Pretty sure my dog is part pit bull. Will I have to register him if I do a breed test for apartment hunting?
He looks sort of like a very big black lab, but the previous owner said he was pretty sure the mother was a rottweiler, father unknown. He has a lot of pit bull attributes. The dog is a perfect gentleman that I've had for a few years now. I'm currently looking for an apartment, and they all have breed restrictions. Was hoping I'd get lucky on a breed test and find out he's none of those things, but, if he was, would that pose a potential risk to him, possibly in the event of a breed ban? Or will the results be confidential?
