What is a good website for finding apts in Manhattan?
I've searched rent.com and apts.com and they don't offer much. I already got apt guide books and searched the local papers too. I was just wondering if there was a really good site out there that i'm missing.

Any suggestions on finding an affordable apartment in DC?
I was born and raised in DC and due in part to "gentrification", I'm finding it nearly impossible to rent apartments in certain areas. Its just myself and my shih-tzu so I dont require much. All the sites I've visited (apt showcase, apt guide, 4wallsindc) cater to people who can afford a luxury apt. Are there any sites, locations or suggestions for smaller, independent owned buildings? Or anyone know of programs that assist you finding communities that are still affordable (ie, under 900 or so)? It's my first place. I'm hoping to find at least a 1BD/1BA. But I'm not opposed to a studio/efficiency. Size, closet space, balcony etc, no requirements. Just a safe, clean, reasonably priced unit. Thanks!
