Finding a great place to rent in the Quad Cities can be a daunting task. First of all you need to figure out where you're going to live...Iowa or Illinois.

Ok, now that you have that figured out, you are going to want to narrow down whether or not to pay a premium for a house or apartment in town, or to live just outside the core cities and save yourself some money.

Next, you're going to have to find a suitable apartment. Just when you think you have found that "perfect" place in a recently constructed housing area, you contact the landlord only to hear them tell you that you are looking at an income restricted apartment or townhouse.

If you are a student, or your income is small enough to qualify for the subsidized housing, you just hit the jackpot...You have just stumbled upon a pretty nice place to call home...For very little money!

Unfortunately, if you are like the majority of people looking for housing, you probably don't fall into this category...or you simply don't want to live in a place where the tax payers are fronting a great portion of your rent payment, even if you do qualify.

That's OK...There are still plenty of rental properties out there, you just have to do your homework to find them. Most of the nicer rental units in the Quad Cities go pretty fast to locals who hear about them by word of mouth. If you are from out of town, check out the local newspapers in addition to the local realtors, who often represent some of the nicer properties in the area.

There are several very good landlords around the Quad Cities. The majority of the ones who do not have income restricted apartments are generally good people. If they have open units, and you can prove that you are a good risk, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding yourself that perfect apartment in Moline, Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, or any one of the surrounding cities.

90's song help! Can't find this music mashup anywhere.?
Okay there was a music mashup that used to be played on the radio all the time in the 90s and, for the life of me, I can't figure out the name of it. This is going to probably be difficult but, I'll try to be as clear as I can. The song started off with Backstreet boys "Everybody" song while the instruments were still going there was someone singing "We'll be singing when we're winning" then some cheers in the background (probably from" Everybody") As the song leads to the Backstreet boys singing, some sports announcer starts counting "1...2...3" then Backstreet boys will start singing "Everybody, rock your body right. Backstreet's back, Alright!" I think "Rhythm is a dancer" is included, along with a song from Chumbawamba. Quad City DJ's may have been inside the song as well, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, as of right now, that's all I can remember. It was a really good song too... If anyone knows of this song, or any possible 90s music mashup CDs, please tell c: I think "I'll be walking on the sun" is included in the song Chumbawamba's song that was featured is called "Tubthumping"

date ideas for the quad cities?
I live near the Quad Cities between IL and IA. There's not much to do around here...and my boy is coming to visit soon. I need inexpensive ideas of what to do for the weekend. Either attractions in my area...or just generic date ideas would be welcomed. Thanks. P.S. please keep in mind that it's March...and kinda cold ;)

Gay bars in Iowa? Are they there?
I relocated from Chicago to Dubuque to have a job (the town and job there was not my first choice but in this economy...). I live in Dubuque. Its 3 hours from there + battle through a two-lane country road with hills for 70 miles before I hit interstate highway! What are the gay bars in my area? Any in Dubuque? What about the towns that are closer to me (Madison, WI, Quad City, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids)? I need to get there once in a while, the town is cute but it gives me creeps! Church by church every corner and antiabortion displays in one public space. I forgot not every church denomination is against gay rights. If you want to list one that supports, I appreciate it but please answer my question.

Dubuque, IA Small town, convervative, no gay life scene :( What is the gay life (nightclub, social, etc) in surrounding closer communities besides obviously Chicago that is 3.5 hours away (boystown). How is in Madison, Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City?
