Why do many intelligent people believe the conservative lies spread through emails?
I know people who believe every lie told about Obama even where there is ample evidence against it. Some are rich Republicans who just don't want to give up the Bush tax cuts, and a few are bigots who really can't get over not having a pure white president.
For instance, my neighbor announced at a community board meeting that the Affordable Health Care Act (he called it Obamacare) was going to put a 3.8% tax on any future home sales. I read the section of the bill thoroughly and found that the 3.8% tax would not affect any us because it would apply only to those home sales which the net profit exceeds $500,000. No home here has ever sold for more than $365,000. When I very courteously pointed this fact out to him so he could retract his statements at the next board meeting, he was very hostile and said he trusted his email over my reading of the actual bill. This is just one of many times I have done my due diligence and have found that people I am friendly with simply prefer to believe lies. I am a political moderate who finds nonsense on both the far right and the far left, but lately the far right has become mainstream. So, I ask, Why do intelligent people believe the conservative lies spread through emails?

Should the credit card/bank give the money back..?
I read a story on yahoo about an older man getting scammed out of about 30 thousand dollars.. he used his credit/bank card to pay and never got the services. it was suppose to be an at home sales job..
he sued/is suing the company, and the bank/credit card for not giving him money bank..
The bank/credit card will not give him money back because they only will do that if the card/money was stolen.. they don't feel they should if the person willingly did this.. not willingly got scammed but willingly went into a deal,
Im on the bank/credit cards side.. I do feel very bad for the man but don't think it is the banks fault he got scammed..
what do you guys think..?

Liberals and conservatives, rightwingers & socialists - How would you fix the crisis in the housing market?
Since the financial crash of 2008 and 2009, and actually going back a little to 2007 and 2006, millions of American homeowners have lost their houses to foreclosure, or have simply walked away from houses they can't afford, leaving them empty and a source of blight to stricken neighbhorhoods.
Since the financial crash of 2008 in particular, housing prices have plummeted in much of the US and huge numbers of construction jobs have been lost as new home sales have declined.
Whatever your political philosophy or political beleifs are, what do you think should be done or can be done to fix this problem?
How woud you or your favorite politician cure the blighted neighborhoods in cities like Cleveland, Las Vegas or Phoenix, where empty houses and overbuilding have left the real estate markets in a mess?
How would you or your favorite politicians put unemployed carpenters, sheet metal workers, plumbers and electricians back to work?
How would you cure the personal financial woes of millions of Americans who are losing their houses?
