Forced to use their real estate agent?
We are considering buying a new freehold in Ontario Canada. We have an existing home we wish to sell through our own real estate broker. The new home builder is setting a provision where they will NOT sell to us, unless we use their sales agent to sell our existing home. This is a big problem and a huge conflict of interest. Is this legal? Can we do anything?

Private Seller to Kick Back Part of 6% Agent Commission - Legal?
I'm buying a house from my older sister's friend. He is a contractor for a new home builder and therefore he has "hook-ups" with different housing services. He can have his real estate company for the builder write up the paperwork and give him the full 6% back that would normally be split between the listing agent and the buyer's agent. He has said that he is willing to split that with me. From my understanding any cash that is being given back to the buyer that is not disclosed with the lender is illegal. Can someone confirm that this is also true with agent commission? If it is illegal, maybe an alternate way of kicking back the commission would be to have him pay part of my down payment.

Do you know anything about the suburb Prestons in Sydney?
I am an American that's helping my mother move to Sydney to be with the rest of our family. I have been doing research on homes and found some good prices on Casaview Homes, a new home builder. The prices on their website were between $200-300,000 AUD. My mother would like to live in West Hoxton because my aunt and grandmother live there. Homes in West Hoxton are expensive though, ranging from the high $300's to $500k! These are California prices (I currently live in Los Angeles)! If you have any advice on how to purchase a home in Australia or very nice developing and affordable suburbs in Sydney please post an answer. Thanks everyone!

Fort Leonord wood housing? Ive looked online and the housing looks downright scary (Jr officer). Is it really that bad? And do they only have new housing for lower enlisted?
