what can i do,relationship wise,credit wise, as an inlaw?
k heres the situation,my boyfriend and i became pregnant with our 1st child,we moved out into our own one bedroom apartment @ 850 a month in a local apartment complex...after we had the baby we found a three bedroom triplex @850 a month in the next town so we moved into the new home...my boyfriends mom is ""very ill""(druggie),and she was having problems with her landlord,so we left the lease open under my boyfriends name and added her on to the lease....time goes by and i start getting calls that rent was past due,about 2 1/2 months...but of course when confronted, his mother denied it and made this big ol' drama over it,n how the apartment manager was lying,because she paid the rent ...the whole time i knew it was a bad idea it caused major problems between my boyfriend and i, i constantly argued with him i even threatened to leave if he kept signing the lease for his mother, but what i said didnt matter because she would call him crying about how sick she was n how she needed help,(shes horrible she tells my 1yr old that the dr.s r gonna cut off gramas legs and shes dying,i have to tell her not to say those things to my kid,shes extremely manipulative,and a simpathy seeker), oh did i mention who lived in the one bedroom apartment the whole time ?? let me run down the list for you: my mother in-law,her druggie boyfriend who had felonies(thats y they couldnt get the apartment on their own),their 30 yr. old daughter her 3 kids,their 28 yr old son,19yr old son and 18 yr old daughter who was pregnant, and their frickin smelly pitbull!! the apartment was discusting when they moved out!!! any one of them could have takin care of the rent !! now they are holding my boyfriend equally responsible for the past due rent that has been owed...and i feel so bad for him because i wanna say i told you so but im not gonna throw it in his face, it hurts me so much to see him feel betrayed by his own family,she lied and lied instead of telling us before it was too late and now we have three days till they send it to collections, but im pregnant (with our 2nd child)and due next month and we cant afford to pay this debt for her ...but my boyfriend knows she wont pay it ...she owes over 2,200 ....you know the sad part is that she says shes too sick and stressed to deal with it so that she doesnt have to take care of ...and you know how we found out she was lying the whole time?...we applied at another nicer apartment and got denied .....and she had the nerve to tell me off when she got caught in her lies ...shes off!! i dont even want her around my children ...how do i handle all this, shes a compulsive liar and shes just straight scandalous!! help me please,or atleast let me know im not alone lol please thanks... if my boyfriend pays this debt for his mother how can i talk him into taking his mother to small claims to get a re-emberssment?? would it be wrong of me to even try ?? i dont want to come between anyone and their mother...but how selfish of her to betray her son and not care about how it would effect her grandchildren,or our family's financial situation?! she has such a short fuse and will make drama over anything,she constantly makes up stories,i dont know how her children deal with it but they all tell me not to listen to her because they even know how she lies so much. i dont know what to think of this person, would it be wrong of me to keep my children from her..i know it hurts my boyfriend,when i tell him how i feel about his mom ,and how i dont want my kids around her . but what parent would want some1 like her around them ??

HELP!!!!! Divorce, Jail?
After finding out my husband has been seeing someone, I confronted him and he moved into a local apartment the next day. Well I still had possession of our credit card, his credit card. I went out and maxed it! I agreed to pay my debt off in mediation. Well I have been unable to make the payments the last few months due to hard times right now. Now his lawyer is trying to put me in jail for contempt, fraud. Well we have a court appearance soon and I dont know what steps I should take. I dont have the money to catch up the payments right now, Please let me know what steps I should take if any. Any advice?! Thanks!

Why are my Jewish neighbors boarding up their doors?
I hope not to sound ignorant or offend anyone, but I am curious as to the custom of why my Jewish neighbors are boarding up their doors with wood that look like sheds. I saw one pop up on a balcony last week and didn't think anything of it. Then another, and another... and now their about 15 in the area, so I assume it is a common custom. Also, one of the local apartments is pitch dark - like a power outage, but I know there is no power outage. I have not lived here long, so I would just like to understand the significance. I thought Yom Kippur was over. Is there another holiday? Thanks in advance! Thanks so far for the informative answers! FYI I am a practicing Christian and do not condone the ignorant answers. I moved to a Jewish town and I am always treated with respect and kindness, and it is important for me to understand the culture here. That's why I ask.

What is your opinion on liking and having deep feelings for a next door neighbor?
I am a college student who recently moved off campus into local apartments and two days after I moved in, a handsome guy moved next door. We attend the same college and I really like him. Although we have only knew each other since the second week in August, my feelings are growing deeper and deeper. We hang out all the time and I enjoy his company. But how can I keep his friendship without allowing my feelings to interrupt our friendship? Thanks
