Move back home or stick it out here?
A good friend and I moved to California on sort of a life changing whim 4-5 months ago and love it here. It's gorgeous, people are nice (at least they seem to be) and the weather is unbeatable. We'd visited before, planned and researched extensively over the course of a year, saved up as much money as possible and made the jump. Back in MA I left all of my friends and family, a decent paying job, my 2 dogs that I'd had for 10 years (they're living with my former roommates), and a ridiculously nice and fairly cheap apartment in a good location. I knew I had it great when I lived there but I needed a change so badly in my life and loved it here so much that I decided to go ahead and make the move while I was still in a spot in my life where I could make it happen (in my mid-late 20's). Well here we are months later and things are starting to come apart. Even with the fairly realistic expectations (or so I thought) that we had based upon all of the research we'd done on the city prior to moving out here, the job market has proven a lot worse than I'd imagined. I've applied to at least one job a day for the last few months and I've only received 3 call-backs, and nothing that will pay me anything more than about 60% of what I was making back east.. shitty. With that said, my friend informed me the other day that he's decided to move in with family up north since he doesn't think he'll be able to find a decent job out here and will probably run out of money within a few months. This means that in a few months he'll be gone, and here I will be - alone, 3,200 miles away from my family, friends and dogs, and jobless or working but just scraping by if things keep going the way they've been going. To save a little bit of money I could move into a 1-bed apartment, but that in itself is going to prove difficult as I probably wont be able to make as much as I used to and my credit isn't necessarily the greatest. Just the thought of all of this is making me really depressed and the only logical thing I can think to do at this point would be to sell the car that I bought and most of my belongings and just move back to MA. I know I could move right back into my old apartment with my old roommates so that wouldn't be an issue, and the job market is considerably better. I feel pretty awful about the whole situation because I do love it out here and if I move back that will mean that I've basically wasted around $6K over the course of both moves that I could have had sitting in my savings account. On top of that, I'll probably have to explain 50+ times why I moved back so soon after saying I probably never would. The real issue I guess is that although I love it here and don't really want to leave, it doesn't seem like I have any reason to stay. It would also be a lot easier and better financially for me to transition back into my old life than to keep on an entirely new one out here completely by myself. Sorry for the length.. I'm feeling a bit lost right now and I guess I just need a few outsider opinions.

Where is rent cheap? What cities?
I would like a fresh start somewhere, I am 19 and have made bad financial decisions in the past and would like to get away from my hometown of Spokane, Washington and just make a fresh start somewhere on the East Coast or Southwest like Arizona or California. I have been looking all over online for apartments in different cities all over the nation but have not been able to find anything very reasonable, I would like to find a city about Spokane size 400,000-900,000 people. Heres the strange part is in Washington State we have the highest minimum wage which is calculated based on cost of living, however here in Spokane i can find a very nice sized and good neighborhood apartment for about $500-$750. However if i look for an apartment elsewhere I'm finding studio apartments with like 300 sq ft for $500-$700 where that would get you a 1 bedroom or even a 2 bedroom in Spokane. Are there any other cities where i could find cheap apartments that are nice looking and in a good neighborhood? I would like to find a Studio apartment, maybe 1 bed max, thats at least 500 sq feet for no more that $600. Please help ive been looking for days and have not been able to find anything good. I don't need specific apartments if you could name a city that you know for sure would fit my match that would be great, please no answers like "MAYBE buffalo". Thank you very much and any help will be appreciated.

Neighbors child opens front door repeatedly walking down two flights of stairs, evening calling for parents.?
Living in some of the cheaper apartments in town, you dont always live around the nicest people around. Sitting inside while my son is sleeping, the next thing I hear is neighbors door open, but not close, then the child's voice. Next thing is I hear the kid walking down the steps and such, repeatedly, up and down, up and down, go to check through peephole and the door is still open enough for size of child. Long story short, he open and closed the door two times, the third time I told him to go back inside and not come out again, while hearing someone snoring. presumably on the couch. ...... Question is should I call CPS?

Collegeee dillemmma!?
Im a junior this year and im starting to think about college. I do dance and my mom wants me to go to the local community college and keep dancing then go to a university here in va. My dad wants me to go to uva or w&m. My boyfriend for almost two years is going to college in florida and is going to live there after he finishes college. I love florida and i like the colleges down there and iv lived in va my whole life. Im also very dependent on my parents ans want to become more independent and do things on my own and have my own money. Were in a tight financial state right now and i feel bad wanting to go to florida when it costs more for out of state. But there are scholarships to help. I dont want my parents thinking i just wanna go to florida because my bf is going there and he wants me to go there and thinks ill get in. Im not sure what to do and what to say to my parents. My sister is so independent they keep telling me that id wanna stay close to them and stuff like that. Would renting a cheap apartment in florida be less than staying on campus and if i did rent in a year id become a resident and wouldnt have to pay out of state tuition. My boyfriend also thinks my parents are making me do what they want and hes lucky because his parents already paid for his college and are buying him and his sister a house down there to live while going to college. If anyone can give me some advice that would be great just nothing negative or bad pleasee

Cheap apartment in Taipei?
I want to move to Taipei to be closer to my job. What is the best way to find dirt cheap apartments? I live in Taoyuan and my rent is 5,000. I looked on tealit and all the single apartments were very expensive. They all said bad words like "new" and "clean" and "modern". I am looking for old and dirty and cheap. Would a real estate agent be good? Are there people that help foreigners? Am I doomed?
