Any advice about religion and my best friend.?
I'll try to be brief: One of my dearest friends, who was previously a particle physics Phd student at a prestigious US school and a self-described agnostic, has suddenly become very religious. Over a period of 3-5 days he left the US (and >95% of his belongings, including his car and an abandoned Chicago apartment) and took residence in Israel. He didn't even say goodbye to his parents. I got an email. He has been living there for a couple months now at a yeshiva and is deeply orthodox. In his emails he is basically a fundamentalist Jew (which I place on the same level as a fundamentalist Christian or Muslim). I want to know what the hell happened to my friend, and what can I do about this? I was thinking of flying to Israel to confront him with another friend of mine, but it might not even be worth the $$, plus he's done nothing illegal or technically "wrong". Just kind of selfish. It's like he's joined a cult, but a well-recognized one. Any advice, please no anti-Semitism here. You're kind of right, it's not too much my business. It bugs me that my friend's response to why he can't turn on a TV a certain day is that "G-d willed it to be", although I've sure there's no mention of a TV in the Torah. He used to be a brilliant thinker and he's reduced to, "G-d willed it to be"? And, yes, he won't write the word "God" out in an email, WTF?

Chicago Apartment Question?
I'm moving to an apartment. There are no utilities included except water. I'm a full time student and I work part time I don't get home until about 9 at night Mon-Thur and my finace works second shift, he doesnt get home until 2 or 3 in the morning almost 7 days a week. he does 64 hours a week sometimes. HERE IS MY QUESTION how much extra in the bils do you think we'll have to pay? how much is your utilities extra each month No what I'm askin is how much do you think like 40 for electric 60 for heat.. On average.......

Illinois Institute of Art... what area of Chicago is the school located?
I am currently looking for apartment options because I will be attending this school. Other than the recommended Presidential Towers, and the Dwight lofts. Just in case there is nothing available for me to rent. I found a website http://chicago.apartments.com/ that will show different apartments in different locations, but I do not know what the area the school is located in called. For instance... Chicago North, Chicago South, Cook County North, Du Page West Cook, Far North Suburbs, Far Northwest Suburbs, Far South Suburbs, Far Southwest suburbs, Far West Suburbs, and last but not least, Northwestern Indiana.
