Would anyone care to rate my short story :D?
A man named Derek Ross, sometime in his late twenties, met with a fair bit of certainty the woman of his dreams. They enjoyed the same music, the same movies, they both looked down upon social injustices that truly did not involve them in the slightest; in fact, the only thing they seemed to differ upon was religion. Derek Ross was a stalwart evolutionist and atheist, while the love of his life Beth Cruise felt the divine power of God was behind our existence.
This difference in ideology held little ground in day to day life, apart from Sundays of course. On Sundays, Derek slept in and Beth went to the Methodist church a few blocks down the street from their New York City apartment. While Beth read prescribed texts of forgiving trespasses and heavenly fathers, Derek would just be waking up. He'd grab for toast, she would receive a piece of stale bread. When she returned home, however, Derek would ask how church was and life went on.
On several occasions Beth would try to get Derek to go to church with her, but he adamantly refused. He would not even sit through a Christmas Eve ceremony, for if he did he would sigh and roll his eyes the whole time. Derek, however, respected Beth's views on religion and never pestered her over it. He had thought on several occasions of how religion, however irrational it may be, helps people through life and particularly with the coping of death and the lack of conscious mind for eternity. The terror had also crossed his mind of actually going to heaven and living for forever. Now matter who was with him in this paradise, it seemed maddening to ponder the length of forever. The eternal rest of death comforted Derek.
Needless to say Beth Cruise became Beth Ross. Their love for one another was so complete and unwavering. Soon, however, Beth became very sick. Derek took her to the hospital where doctors ran numerous tests. As they sat fearfully in a quiet observation room, an Asian doctor walked in with a sullen frown on his face. He informed them that Beth had terminal cancer, and that she had but a few weeks to live. Crushed by this news, Derek and Beth hugged and cried together.
Derek took some time off work so that he could be with his love for her last dying days. Seeing as how there was nothing that doctors could do about it, they allowed Beth to stay in the comfort of her own home to die. Derek never left her side.
Beth was going through intense psychological peril as she imagined life without Derek. She knew that through faith she would spend eternity in the paradise of heaven. The only thing that troubled her, which did so deeply, was that Derek would not be there due to his ideology that did not include God. She wept for him. Derek on the other hand was equally disparaged because he couldn't imagine living life without the one he loved.
As a couple weeks passed, evidence that Beth's death was near was all too present. Derek held her in his arms as her world around her darkened, succumbing to the cancer. She prayed to God. Beth looked up at Derek and opened her eyes for the last time. She drew in her last breath and uttered her last words. She had realized that to be with the one she loved forever she would have to accept the worst fate she could fathom. With tears in here eyes, she looked at her eternal love and said "I've just refuted God."

New York City apartment classified..........?
Me and guitarist is moving to Manhattan ( lived there before ) from UK. We might be there for a year. Anyways are there any website ( NO MORE CRAIGLIST FOR US ) that we can go to look for ROOMS in Manhattan or NYC area?
2) To avoid scams what must I look for in an owner before any cash transactions? Can I look for SSN number?
